House restoration

David and Lynette Johnson purchased a beautiful old Italianate style house in 2002. The house was built in the late 1860s and sits on State Road 120 on the west edge of Bristol in Elkhart County. The Johnsons have also researched the house and know everyone who has ever lived there. They have done a lot of work restoring the house but still have some projects to complete. They could use help with the brackets for the cupolas. If anyone knows where to find any brackets – perhaps someone is having an Italianate house torn down? – contact Lynette at e-mail address ljohnson731@yahoo.com.

About historynut11

My name is Tim Ashley and I am a newspaper editor/reporter/photographer in Milford, Indiana, and live in nearby Goshen, Indiana. A deeply held and sincere passion of mine is history and learning from the past. I enjoy a wide variety of history topics, but particularly local history, noted American highways (Lincoln Highway and Route 66), railroad history and the Civil War. I believe we can learn much from the past and that past shapes who we are today. I also enjoy visiting museums and historical sites, as well as taking photos of remnants from the past still standing.
