Blair’s walk nears end

Stretch of Old Lincoln Highway

Jeff Blair continues his fundraising walk across the entire state of Indiana on the old Lincoln Highway. It is a fundraiser for both the Indiana Lincoln Highway Association and the Alzheimer’s Association. Weather permitting, Blair will finish the walk by reaching the Illinois border later this week. As shown in the attached photo, he has seen several old alignments of the road; some no longer used. This photo shows a stretch of old road near Churubusco. A remarkable feat for someone to walk across the entire state. Visit to see his blog updates and to donate to the cause, too.

About historynut11

My name is Tim Ashley and I am a newspaper editor/reporter/photographer in Milford, Indiana, and live in nearby Goshen, Indiana. A deeply held and sincere passion of mine is history and learning from the past. I enjoy a wide variety of history topics, but particularly local history, noted American highways (Lincoln Highway and Route 66), railroad history and the Civil War. I believe we can learn much from the past and that past shapes who we are today. I also enjoy visiting museums and historical sites, as well as taking photos of remnants from the past still standing.
