Farmhouse in North Webster

This farmhouse, more than 100 years old, is a reminder of the former Mid-Lake Farms in North Webster. Originally more than 800 acres, but now less than 200, the farm encompassed much of what is the town of North Webster in Kosciusko County today. The Warner family owned the land when it was first settled in the 1830s and the land, with the exception of what has been sold off of course, has remained in the family (later this year will mark the 175th anniversary). The farmhouse is on the west edge of town on Huntington Street.

About historynut11

My name is Tim Ashley and I am a newspaper editor/reporter/photographer in Milford, Indiana, and live in nearby Goshen, Indiana. A deeply held and sincere passion of mine is history and learning from the past. I enjoy a wide variety of history topics, but particularly local history, noted American highways (Lincoln Highway and Route 66), railroad history and the Civil War. I believe we can learn much from the past and that past shapes who we are today. I also enjoy visiting museums and historical sites, as well as taking photos of remnants from the past still standing.
