My name is Tim Ashley and I live in Goshen, Indiana, in the northern part of the state near the Michigan border. I’m a newspaper editor/reporter/photographer in Milford, Indiana. I have a deep and sincere interest in history, particularly local history and hope to share that with many. I am interested in a wide range of history topics, but particularly that of famous American highways (Lincoln Highway and Route 66), Civil War, railroad history, old American West and others.

  2. Hi Tim,
Great blog. Your landscape documentation is crucial to preserving our history. Now I’ve got some reading to catch up on though. Great work!

  3. Hi, Tim.

My name is Ann Elise Taylor, and I’m a digital producer and community manager with The Elkhart Truth. One part of my job is recruiting people to blog for our community blogs section, which is why I’m reaching out to you.

Would you be interested in having your blog housed on our website in addition to your WordPress site? I could get you set up with a section on elkharttruth.com, and when you post a new blog here you could simply copy and paste it into our system. It’s a great way to get more eyes on your work, and I think our readers would be really interested to see what you’re writing about.

Let me know if this sounds like something you’d be interested in! My email address is ataylor@elkharttruth.com. Shoot me an email, and we can talk about it.

    Thanks for your time!

    Ann Elise

Hi Tim, this is so crazy how I found you- I am a painting contractor I live in the SF bay area (CA) I was looking to buy a older telescopic painters plank that are made of wood but OSHA will no longer let them be made of wood and now they are aluminum in the trade we call them a “squeeze plank” they are few and far and I have never owned one of them but back in the day I stood on one and painted a lot-

So anyways I find one on E BAY which I am biding on as I type this and on the side of the plank is this stamp “GOSHEN CHURN & LADDER CO.” I hate to say this but I am becoming a little obsessed with this ladder company the town and all LOL-

I was wondering are there any pics of the company like men working on a ladder the plank I am buying was made with much skill and attention to detail my e mail is tradesmanpainting@gmail.com

also great BLOG Tim awesome photos you have really peeked my interest…

    Thank you so much,
